the passion behind our projects: production

From large-scale TVC campaigns to the humble social media content bank; it’s all nothing without production. Having captured endless hours of footage, countless stills and even a funky GIF here and there, we know what goes into elevated content and campaigns. It all starts with a dedicated production team, and at Only Everything, that’s Paulo, Liam and Cam.

We usually stick to telling brands’ stories in our projects, but we reckon the stories behind our team’s brilliance are worth sharing too.

Paulo: “I first started playing around with cameras when I was a kid. I really liked taking photos but up until 2015, it wasn't anything serious. In 2015, while I was at uni I landed an internship and shot all videos for the campus and that was when I took making videos seriously. By 2017 I was getting asked to shoot some parties and got to go on tour with a couple of DJ's. After speaking to a friend who already lived here in Sydney, I knew it was a huge opportunity to come down and shoot, so I headed to Australia. Needless to say, it's been an insane time living and creating down here. I’m shooting the sickest stuff with a bunch of like-minded legends, at some of the most stunning locations in the entire universe!”

Cam: “The surfing industry was my segway into the commercial world. I was lucky enough to be friends with a pro surfer growing up, who gave me my first paid job following them around for a year filming and hanging out. It's been 14 years since then and I'm quite excited for the next 14.”

Liam: “I got into the industry through surfing. I bought a cheap little miniDV camera when I was 17 and started shooting my friends surfing. At 18 I studied film & tv on the Gold Coast and have since built a 22-year-long career as a DP/Camera op.”

Every creative has their own signature style and feel. In production, it’s important to maintain this aesthetic while still communicating the key messaging the client desires- something our team’s definitely mastered in each of our projects (sorry, but we have to brag!). We asked the boys to tell us how they’d describe their aesthetic, as well as one thing they always try to capture in each project.

Cam: “Energetic in short. My aim with each shoot is to keep engagement levels high. Youthful fast-paced energy is a big thing for me. Obviously, each client has their own values and story, but what I aim to bring to the table is the ability to bring a fast-paced sense of life to something that’d usually be considered mundane or stale”.

Liam: “As natural as possible. Anything natural without too much force.”

Paulo: “Minimalist yet abundant- dreamy and evokes a sense of bliss. For client-focused work, I like to provide a fresh and meaningful perspective with a high-end look and feel, yet still accessible.”

Finally, having worked with a leading brands from a variety of industries means that to say we’ve got a highlight or two would be an understatement. As we’re so passionate about what we do, there’s an incredibly long list of shoots we’d consider favourites! Here’s a few that we’d love to relive:

Liam: “Shooting up at the Great Barrier Reef for Snapchat.”

Paulo: “ 2021 was very special, we got to create some really amazing pieces for Samsung and Snapchat. Other clients such as Adidas, Ellesse, Rebel Sports, Pure Bay, The Lucky Drop and Lulu and Rose were also a great pleasure to shoot for.”

Cam: “Funnily enough a small-budget job we had for Ellesse. We knew it was a passion project so we went all out with the gear we used and the final video itself. OE has always had such a great culture with their clients which stems beyond the final work. Asking for a favourite is like asking “who’s your favourite in the family?”… too hard.”
