READ: Get To Know Your Triple J Hottest 100 Winners, Ocean Alley

Having sold out nationwide tours, headlined some of Australia’s biggest music festivals and played all over the world, a group of guys from the beachside burbs of Sydney have just taken one of Australia’s most prized titles, the #1 spot on Triple J’s Hottest 100 Countdown. All hail Aussie band, Ocean Alley.

Since the release of their second album, Chiaroscuro, the boys behind the band have rapidly climbed the Aussie music ladder. After a massive 2018 - releasing their second album, headlining Australian Tour, US Tour and playing at Splendour In The Grass - Triple J were touting them as the band to look out for. Well they weren’t wrong.

Hailing from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, six friends bonded over jam sessions in a mates shed eventually leading them to form psych-surf band, Ocean Alley. With a mutual love of banging instruments and belting tunes, Baden (vocals/guitar), Angus (lead guitar), Lachlan (keyboard/vocals), Mitch (rhythm guitar), Nic (Bass) and Tom released their first album, Yellow Mellow, in September 2013.

Six years on, two albums later and four songs featured on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2019 has started off with a bang! Now set to join forces with Tash Sultana on an Australian tour the guys behind some our favourite tunes are taking the Aussie music scene by storm. Whilst we wait impatiently to see what Ocean Alley do next, we have their top 100 hits - Happy Sad at number 100, Baby Come Back at number 16, Knees at Number 10 and Confidence at Number 1 - on repeat. Check out their winning tune below.
