It's no secret that Kanye West is one of the most creative minds of his generation (even if he does say so himself) and with that level of artistic genius bubbling away inside him it would be remiss of him not to extend some inspiration to the generations that follow him. It seem's West recognises this himself and has recently announced he will be launching a creative incubator for young creatives.
The program will provide financial assistance and mentorship to aspiring artists specialising in fashion and design. The inaugural recipient of the grant is Chicago local Maisie Schloss, a former member of the Yeezy design team. Schloss spoke with Vogue about the opportunity, saying "Yeezy is a really special environment for growing and developing a career. When I started I was just an assistant, but the highly creative and unconventional atmosphere allowed for me to have visibility and input in a wide variety of projects."
Schloss is publicly launching her brand "Maisie Wilen" in Paris later this year and if West's career path is anything to go by Schloss has some very big things in front of her.
