READ: **Picks jaw up off floor. Samsung just shared their new foldable phone

Have you been tossing up between spending your money on a new smartphone or tablet? Toss no more, thanks to Samsung’s latest tech development, Galaxy Fold.

Having teased us with the original design late last year, Galaxy Fold is no longer just a concept. Unveiling the new product at their Unpacked event earlier this week, the revolutionary smart phone is set for release in the US on April 26th, starting at $1,980.

The smartphone contains two different screen displays, easily switching between that of a single package smartphone and a revolutionary tablet. ‘The Galaxy Fold is a device unlike anything before it’, explained Samsung’s Senior Vice President of Product Marketing, Justin Denison.

The smaller 4.6 inch screen is affixed to the front of the device like a conventional smartphone which unfolds out similarly to that of a book, allowing users to experience the second 7.3 inch display. The company refer to this seamless transition as ‘Infinity Flex Display’ allowing the device to fold in and out creating a seamless multi screen experience. Better yet, the unified device provides app continuity as the user switches between both screens.

All this flipping between single and multi screens, one may think the device would be flimsy? Wrong. Denison discussed the backbone of the product stating that the company designed a ‘sophisticated hinge system’ that’s hidden from view and can withstand the wear-and-tear of more than 100,000 folds. Aside from the sophisticated hardware behind the multi use technology, users will be able to use three apps simultaneously on the larger screen. Say goodbye to pressing pause on Youtube to respond to a text, the device allows users to watch Youtube videos, text friends and search Google all at the same time.
