In 2012, model Lauren Wasser lost her leg after surviving tampon-related toxic shock syndrome (TSS). In 2017, Wasser had her other leg amputated due to lingering complications. In the years following her surgeries, Wasser has been nothing but a pillar of strength, using her platform to inform and inspire others.
Although her work in women’s health takes up a large chunk of her time, Wasser is a regular amongst the fashion scene. With cheek bones carved from the gods themselves, Wasser was born into the supermodel relm. Having posed in the pages of Italian Vogue as a baby, Wasser was meant for superstardom.
Now, having overcome the challenges of TSS and the loss of both her legs, Wasser is challenging style and fashion norms. Chatting with Vogue, Wasser discusses rediscovering her style, finding new ways to engage with fashion and her triumphant return to the fashion world.
